Submarine Sunday #32

Welcome to this week's Submarine Sunday! Thank you to everyone who linked up last week! I finished another crochet & fabric infinity scarf, and this one is a keeper!  I went back to the store to buy more fabric to make a couple more scarves like it that I'll probably sale on Etsy later.  I also made upcycled denim bloomers/diaper covers for my daughter. I'm also working on blog posts about projects I made a while ago, but never got around to posting. I hope you'll enjoy those projects once I get them posted. Anyhoo... On to the party!

Henna Paisley Infinity Scarf

Here's my latest Anthropologie inspired infinity scarf creation. I fell in love with this fabric when I saw it and knew it would make a wonderful infinity scarf. I knew that I wanted to use Caron Simply Soft's dark country blue yarn with the henna paisley fabric. Originally, I planned to sell the scarf on Etsy, but I like it, so I'm going to keep it and make another one just like it to sell on Etsy.

Upcycled Denim Bloomers

My darling daughter Krissy will be 2 years old in August, and she wears sizes 24 months, 2T, and sometimes 3T.  Well, those 2T and 3T dresses usually don't come with bloomers/diaper covers, and I don't like the idea of my daughter wearing a dress without a diaper cover (because diapers aren't cute!).  So yesterday, I finally finished two denim bloomers. I used the tutorial by Dana at MADE. I've used this tutorial before to make my Sorbet Garden Bloomers, Ladies In Red Bloomers, and Patchwork Bloomers.

7 Quick Takes Friday (5/17/13)

---1---
Sunday was Mother's Day, and my husband was on daddy duty that day. He barbequed ribs and bratwursts and took care of our daughter while I relaxed.  He bought me a lovely card and an orchid.  He's been taking care of the orchid because I kill plants.  I don't mean to.... It just happens.  We also watched the movie, The Impossible.  It was a really good movie.

Submarine Sunday #31

Welcome to this week's Submarine Sunday! HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!!! Thank you to everyone who linked up last week! I finished another crochet & fabric infinity scarf.  I've already made two others using the same fabric and yarn combination, but it's my favorite.  The first one I made was for my friend's 16 year old daughter, and I made another one for me.  This third one will probably end up for sale on Etsy. I'm almost done with another scarf, and I'm already in love with it.  I may have to keep it... :-)

My Favorite Infinity Scarf

Last week, I finished another crochet and fabric infinity scarf.  I've made 2 others using the same fabric and yarn combination because it's my favorite!   The first one I made as a gift for my friend's 16 year old daughter.  Then I made another for myself.  I just love the fabric and the colors!  I love pink, blue, green, and yellow together.  I need to come up with a cute name for this scarf...  With thee first two scarves I made, I used blue, pink, and green yarn as the main colors, but in this third scarf, I used blue, pink, and yellow. I think the yellow yarn really POPS!  I am almost done with another infinity scarf, and I can't wait to share it with you all.  I think this one is going to be gorgeous!  I may have to keep it...

7 Quick Takes Friday (5/10/13)

---1---
Today was a busy day.  My husband got off work early as usual since it's Friday.  We went on base to pick up an Ad Valorem Tax exemption form.  Neither of us are Georgia residents, so we don't have to pay that tax every time we renew our vehicle registration.  That saves us over $240 every year.  I also got a new license plate.  I had the boring old GA license plate, so I paid $8 extra to upgrade to the new pretty one.  lol Anyhoo, after that, we went to Brunswick and did a little shopping at Ross.  I wanted to do more shopping, but our toddler was getting grumpy.  We had lunch at Red Lobster, and I realized that I hadn't eaten at a Red Lobster since we left Washington 2 years ago! It was yummy.  I had crab legs, lobster tail, shrimp, and caramel cheesecake.  Krissy really liked the caramel cheesecake. I love spending time with my little family.
